Viktor Arnar Ingolfsson is a renowned Icelandic author, born on April 12, 1955, in Akureyri, Iceland. He pursued his higher education at the ICET (Icelandic College of Engineering and Technology), where he graduated with a B.Sc. degree in civil engineering in 1983. During his summer vacations, he worked for the Icelandic Road Administration, a job he began in 1969 and continued after his graduation, working full-time from 1983.
In 1985, Viktor Arnar was appointed as the supervisor of the institution's publications and contributed to Public Relations. His interest in communications, publishing, and computer graphics led him to study at the George Washington University in Washington DC in 1990 and 1995. Throughout his career, he has balanced his work in civil engineering with his passion for writing.
Viktor Arnar's literary career began in 1978 with the publication of his first novel, Dauðasök (Capital Offence). He has since established himself as a prominent crime novelist, publishing several works in the genre. His third novel, Engin spor (No Trace), earned a nomination for the Glass Key award for Scandinavian crime writing, as did his fourth novel, Flateyjargáta (The Riddle of Flatey).
