Stephanie Bond

Stephanie Bond is a successful American author, best known for her mystery and romance novels. Growing up in Eastern Kentucky, Bond developed a love for reading at a young age. She particularly enjoyed romantic suspense novels by authors such as Phyllis A. Whitney and Victoria Holt, which her aunt would bring home in bags full of paperbacks. This early exposure to the genre would later influence her own writing career.

Bond started writing in her spare time after receiving her graduate degree. She initially tried her hand at historical romance but found the research to be too time-consuming. She then switched to contemporary romance, which she has been writing ever since. Bond's work is characterized by its light-hearted tone and popular appeal, making her an accessible writer with a wide audience. Her Body Movers series of mystery novels is particularly well-known and has helped establish her as a successful author.

Bond's career as a novelist began in earnest in 1995 when she sold her first manuscript, a romantic comedy, to Harlequin Books. Prior to this, she had been working in systems engineering and pursuing an MBA at night. An instructor in her MBA program had remarked that she had a flair for writing and encouraged her to submit to academic journals. However, Bond's true interest lay in writing fiction, specifically romantic fiction.

After completing her master's degree and with no formal training in writing, Bond began writing a romance novel in her spare time. Two years later, she sold her first manuscript and continued to write women's romantic fiction full-time after leaving her corporate job in 1997. To date, Bond has published over 70 novels and has sold more than 1 million copies of her own books. Her work has been translated into numerous languages and is available in various formats worldwide. In 2011, Bond launched a self-publishing business, further expanding her reach as an author.
