Sherryl Clark

Sherryl Clark is a prolific author, originally from New Zealand and now residing in Australia. She has written over 70 books, including children's books, young adult novels, poetry, and crime fiction. Clark's love for crime fiction began with authors such as Mickey Spillane, James Ellroy, and Raymond Chandler. Although she started her writing career focusing on children's and young adult books, she never abandoned her passion for crime fiction and continued to write in the genre for her own enjoyment.

Clark's first children's book, "The Too-Tight Tutu," was published in 1997, and since then, she has written over 60 children's and young adult books. Some of her other popular titles include "Bone Song," "Dying to Tell Me," "One Perfect Pirouette," and "Trust Me I'm Dead." In addition to her children's books, Clark has also published a picture book of poems and other titles such as "Pirate X," "Now I Am Bigger," and the "Rose" series, which is part of the popular "Our Australian Girl" series.

Clark is also a professor of creative writing at Victoria University in Melbourne, Australia. She has released her books in Australia and abroad in over 10 countries. Besides writing for children and young adults, Clark also writes crime fiction novels. Her crime fiction novel "Trust Me I'm Dead" was shortlisted for the CWA Debut Dagger and published by Verve Books in the UK. The novel features a grumpy female protagonist, modeled after a young Judi Dench, and has undergone nine drafts. Clark has also published two collections of poetry and works as a freelance editor, manuscript development editor, and mentor. She also teaches people how to develop their own blogs and websites.
