Sandrone Dazieri is a renowned Italian author, famous for his crime novels, particularly the Gorilla series. He was born in Cremona in 1964 and studied at the San Pellegrino Terme hotel school. Dazieri had a diverse work experience before he became a writer, including working as a cook for ten years. He later moved to Milan and took on various jobs, from porter to seller, and was also actively involved in the Milan social centers movement.
Dazieri's writing career began as a freelance journalist for several publications, including the newspaper il manifesto. He was a social center activist for many years and was involved in numerous protests, which resulted in physical confrontations and legal troubles until 1994. Dazieri's literary debut was in 1999 with "Attenti al Gorilla," where he introduced his alter ego, an ex-Leoncavallo resident who suffers from split personality disorder. This character works as an unlicensed detective and bouncer, driven by a strong sense of justice. The novel was successful, and Dazieri went on to write two more books in the Gorilla series, "La cura del Gorilla" and "Gorilla Blues."
Dazieri's works have been featured in various Italian noir anthologies, including "Italia odia" and "Il giallo e l’impegno." He has also written several comic book scripts and a young adult novel, "Ciak si indaga." His books have been published in France and Germany, and he has established himself as a prominent figure in Italian crime fiction. Currently, Dazieri is the editorial director of the Gialli Mondadori and Colorado Noir imprints.
