Robert Lynn Asprin

Robert Lynn Asprin was an American author, born in 1946, who made his mark in the science fiction and fantasy genre. He wrote both standalone novels and series, with some of his notable works including "The Cold Cash War," "Tambu," and "The Bug Wars," as well as the Duncan & Mallory Illustrated stories. However, Asprin is best known for his series fantasy, such as the Myth Adventures of Aahz and Skeeve, the Phule's Company novels, and the Time Scout novels written with Linda Evans. His writing is characterized by its humor and wit, making him a popular and well-loved author in the genre.

Asprin was also responsible for editing the groundbreaking Thieves' World anthology series, which he did in collaboration with his then-wife, Lynn Abbey. In addition to his work as an editor and solo author, Asprin frequently collaborated with other writers, including Jody Lynn Nye and Lynn Abbey. Some of his collaborative works include "License Invoked," set in the French Quarter of New Orleans, and several Myth Adventures novels. Asprin's final solo work was a contemporary fantasy series called Dragons, which, like many of his other works, was set in New Orleans.

Asprin passed away suddenly on May 22, 2008, leaving behind a legacy of humorous and engaging science fiction and fantasy novels. He is survived by his daughter and son, his mother, and his sister. His work continues to be celebrated and enjoyed by readers today, and he is remembered as a talented and influential author in the genre.
