P.M. Carlson

Patricia Carlson, also known by her pen-name P.M. Carlson, is an accomplished American author of cozy mystery novels. She has gained a significant following both nationally and internationally, establishing herself as a popular figure in the world of literature. Her work is highly regarded for its ability to keep readers guessing, while maintaining a fun and light-hearted approach to the mystery genre. Carlson's stories are immersive and engaging, capturing the attention of her audience and holding it until the very end.

Before turning to mystery writing, Carlson taught psychology and statistics at Cornell University. Despite her background in academia, she found greater fulfillment in writing mysteries and has since published a total of twelve novels and a dozen short stories. Her work has been recognized with multiple award nominations, including for an Edgar award, a Macavity award, and twice for Anthony awards. Additionally, two of her short stories were finalists for Agatha awards.

In addition to her work as a writer, Carlson has also held leadership positions in the literary community. She served as the editor of the Mystery Writers Annual for Mystery Writers of America for several years and has also served as President of Sisters in Crime. Her personal interests include working on her Victorian house and traveling. Carlson has lived in various places throughout her life, including Guatemala, California, Maryland, Indiana, Paris, and Brooklyn. Currently, she resides in New York with her husband and a Belgian sheepdog named Nero Wolfe.
