Miranda Lee

Miranda Lee is a prolific Australian author, having written over 75 contemporary romance novels. She was born in Port Macquarie, New South Wales, as the youngest of four children. Her father, a country school teacher and talented sportsman, was transferred to Gosford when Miranda was ten years old. It was here that she spent her formative years before moving to Sydney.

Before becoming a successful author, Miranda had a varied career path. She briefly studied the cello after leaving her convent school, but her interests soon shifted to the new world of computers. She became a programmer for a while, before life's demands led her to marry and have three daughters. The family moved to a semi-rural community where Miranda tried her hand at goat and horse breeding, as well as greyhound training. However, she found no fulfillment in these pursuits and longed for a creative career.

Miranda's writing career took off after her sister suggested she try writing romances. She committed herself to writing a six-book series, The Hearts of Fire, in just nine months. Her husband bravely supported her decision by leaving his executive position to manage the household chores. Miranda's novels are known for their pacy and sexy rhythms, passionate and real-life characters, and enduring storylines. She has one guiding principle when writing romances: "Don't bore the reader!" With millions of fans worldwide, it is clear that Miranda has succeeded in her mission.

It is worth noting that Miranda Lee is the sister of the late author, Emma Darcy, further cementing her place in the Australian romance writing community.
