Michael Buckley is a bestselling American author of children's novels, known for his series such as the Sisters Grimm and N.E.R.D.S.. He was born in Akron, Ohio, and tried his hand at various creative pursuits before finding his calling as a writer. This includes attempting to be a lead singer in a punk rock band and stand-up comedy, but he eventually decided to focus on his education. Buckley attended Ohio University with honors, after which he moved to New York City for an internship at the Late Show with David Letterman.
After his internship, Buckley became involved in television production, working on documentaries and developing programming for various networks, including MTV, Discovery Networks, and MTV Animations, who produced Nickelodeon’s Rugrats. He also co-created the Cartoon Network animated series Robotomy with Joe Deasy. Buckley later ventured into writing, partnering with Deasy to create the N.E.R.D.S. series. He is now married to Alison Fargis, a co-owner of Stonesong Press and a literary agent, and they have a son named Finn. They reside together in Brooklyn, New York.
