Melanie Cellier is a successful Australian author who has made a name for herself in the realm of young adult fantasy novels. From a young age, Cellier was an avid reader and continued to feed her love of books throughout her childhood, young adulthood, and even into her adult years. Although she always dreamed of writing young adult or children's fiction, she would go on to pursue three different careers across three continents before finally penning her debut novel, "The Princess Companion," in 2016. Now, she is fortunate enough to write full-time from her home in Canberra, Australia, where she can often see kangaroos hopping down her street.
Cellier's diet may not have changed much over the years, but her love of books has only grown stronger. She is best known for her "Four Kingdoms" series of novels, which includes more than fifteen novels in total. The series, along with her "Beyond the Four Kingdoms," "Spoken Mage," and "Return to the Four Kingdoms" series, are all part of her expanding young adult fantasy repertoire. Many of her "Four Kingdoms" fiction works are retellings of classic fairy tales, which have proven to be incredibly popular among her readers.
While Cellier is now an accomplished author, her journey to get there was not without its challenges. She worked three different careers and lived on three different continents before she was able to realize her dream of becoming a writer. Now, she feels incredibly fortunate to be able to spend her time writing from the comfort of her own home in Adelaide, Australia, where she keeps an eye out for koalas in her backyard. Along with her love of books, Cellier has added choc mint Rooibos tea and Chicken Crimpies to her list of favorite things.
