Maureen Klovers

Maureen Klovers is a highly acclaimed author, best known for her mystery and thriller stories, as well as her travel books. She was born in Milwaukee, United States, and has led a life full of adventure and intrigue. Before establishing herself as a writer, Klovers worked as an agent for the United States intelligence. Her experiences in this field have greatly influenced her writing, particularly in her Jeanne Pelletier series and the Rita Calabrese Mystery series.

Klovers has also held various positions in government, including a stint as a U.S. intelligence officer, and was a political commentator on DC 101's talk radio show "Neighborhood Stuff." She has traveled extensively in the United States, Europe, China, India, and Latin America, gaining firsthand knowledge and experiences that she has woven into her writing. Some of her most memorable adventures include hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, being escorted through a Bolivian prison by a German narco-trafficker, and fishing for piranhas in Venezuela.

In addition to her work as a writer, Klovers has also undertaken teaching jobs, including a position in Quito, Ecuador. She has received great inspiration from the residents of a care center for people suffering from leprosy (Hansen's disease), who she considers the most life-affirming and positive people living on the planet. Klovers received a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the College of William and Mary and a Master's of Public Policy and Master's of Business Administration from Georgetown University. She currently lives in Arlington, Virginia, with her husband, Kevin.
