Mark Sennen is a successful author of crime thriller novels, best known for his D.I. Charlotte Savage series. Born in Surrey, England, Sennen spent his formative years in the rural county of Shropshire. It was here that he learned to worm sheep and drive a tractor, and had to make a forty-mile round trip just to see a movie. His upbringing in this remote location has greatly influenced his writing, providing a backdrop for his novels and shaping his protagonist, Charlotte Savage, who works in a similar setting in Devon.
Sennen has had a diverse range of experiences and careers before becoming a full-time writer. He studied Cultural Studies at the University of Birmingham and has worked as a farmer, drummer, and computer programmer. He even began a Ph.D., but ultimately decided to abandon it. Despite not finding great success in these ventures, Sennen has been able to apply his skills and knowledge from these experiences to his writing. He has converted his programming suite into a writer's room, where he now spends most of his time writing and continues to program on the side. Sennen also plays the tenor ukulele and enjoys sailing.
Sennen's first Charlotte Savage book was self-published and became an Amazon number one thriller. He is now published by HarperCollins and his series has grown to six books, with his latest being a standalone thriller, "The Sum Of All Sins". He lives with his wife, two children, and a large dog in Devon, where he finds inspiration for his writing. His works include the DI Charlotte Savage series, the Holm and da Silva series, and the standalone thriller, "The Sum Of All Sins". Despite his success, Sennen remains humble and down-to-earth, often mentioning that there hasn't been a murder in his neighborhood for years.
