Marie Lu

Marie Lu is a Chinese-American author, best known for her young adult dystopian novels. She was born in Beijing, China in 1984 and moved to the United States with her family when she was five years old. Lu grew up in Texas before attending the University of Southern California. After graduating, she worked in the video game industry as an art director for several years before becoming a full-time author.

Lu's most famous work is the Legend Trilogy, which includes the books "Legend," "Prodigy," and "Champion." The series was a New York Times bestseller and has been praised for its character development and world-building. In addition to the Legend Trilogy, Lu has also written "The Young Elites" and its sequels.

In addition to her work as an author, Lu is also an artist and has incorporated her visual talents into her writing. Before becoming a full-time writer, she worked as a flash artist for Disney Interactive Studios. She currently lives in Los Angeles, California, where she spends her time writing, reading, drawing, and playing video games. She is also an active user of social media and can often be found interacting with her fans on Twitter.

Lu's work often reflects her experiences as a Chinese-American growing up in two different cultures. She has spoken about how her background has influenced her writing and the importance of diversity in literature. Her books have been adapted for the screen, with CBS Films announcing a film adaptation of the Legend Trilogy in 2013. The film is set to be directed by Jonathan Levine, who previously directed the successful film "Warm Bodies." Lu continues to be an influential voice in the world of young adult literature and is highly respected by her peers and fans alike.
