Marianne Cronin

Marianne Cronin is a talented author who was born in Warwickshire, England in 1990. She pursued her passion for writing by studying Creative Writing and English at Lancaster University. After completing her undergraduate degree, Cronin went on to earn a PhD in Applied Linguistics from the University of Birmingham.

Cronin's writing journey has been a long and dedicated one. Her debut novel, 'The One Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot,' took seven years to complete. This testament to her perseverance and dedication to her craft has paid off, as the novel is set to be published in over twenty languages and is being adapted into a feature film by a major Hollywood studio.

Cronin enjoys writing during the nighttime hours and prefers to be alone while she works. When she's not writing, she can be found participating in various improv groups, trying to make people laugh, and spending time with her recently adopted cat, Puffin, who often sleeps under her desk.

Before Cronin became a full-time fiction writer, she spent her days in academia, writing papers that she admits were not always the most exciting to read. Despite having a PhD in Applied Linguistics, Cronin chooses not to use the title "Dr." professionally, as she fears being asked to help in a medical emergency with only her linguistics expertise to offer. Cronin's humility and sense of humor are endearing qualities that shine through in her writing and her interactions with her readers.
