Mandy Morton is a Suffolk-born author who discovered her passion for books at a young age. Her love for literature was sparked when she read "Wind in the Willows" by Kenneth Grahame as a five-year-old, and she quickly became enamored with the characters Mole and Ratty.
After beginning her professional life as a musician, Morton transitioned to a career in arts journalism. During the 1970s and early 1980s, she wrote song lyrics that formed the basis of six albums and toured extensively with her band. More recently, she has worked as a freelance arts journalist for national and local radio, specializing in music and theatre documentary. She is also the co-author of a non-fiction theatre book, "In Good Company."
Morton currently resides in Cambridge and Cornwall with her partner, where they always have a place for an aging long-haired tabby cat. "The No. 2 Feline Detective Agency" is her first novel and marks the beginning of a series of books inspired by her first cat, Hettie.
