Manda Scott

Manda Scott is a highly accomplished author, known for her work in the mystery, thriller, and historical fiction genres. She was born and raised in a small village near Glasgow, Scotland, a place rich in history that includes the Covenanters and the Alexanders of Eglington. This upbringing in a historic community likely contributed to her interest in writing historical fiction.

She has received numerous accolades for her work, including being shortlisted for an Orange Prize and nominated for an Edgar. Her novels have also been considered for television adaptations. Currently, she is the host of the THRUTOPIA MASTERCLASS, where she helps aspiring writers create plausible, generative, and thriving near-term futures in their writing.

Scott's latest novel, A Treachery of Spies, is a crime thriller that also incorporates the heroism of the Special Operations Executive in World War II. She has also written a Thrutopian TV series and is currently working on a Thrutopian novel. In addition to her work as a writer and writing instructor, Scott is also the host of the Accidental Gods podcast and runs a horticultural smallholding, with the goal of eventually using it to feed the local community. She is dedicated to using her platform and her work to create a better future and inspire others to do the same.
