Madeleine Roux is a bestselling American author, born in Minnesota in 1985. She is known for her work in the thriller and horror genres, with a bibliography that includes the Zombie series, the Asylum series, and the House of Furies series. Roux first gained recognition in the world of writing through her experimental fiction blog, Allison Hewitt is Trapped, which she started in 2009. The blog's unique serial fiction experience quickly gained popularity and was later developed into a novel, marking the beginning of the Zombie series.

Roux earned her BA in Creative Writing and Acting from Beloit College in 2008. During her time at Beloit, she undertook an Honors Term where she proposed, wrote, and presented a full-length historical fiction novel. This experience further honed her writing skills and prepared her for the success that awaited her in the publishing world. After the completion of her studies, Roux launched Allison Hewitt is Trapped, which significantly contributed to her growing reputation as an author.
