Louise Cooper

Louise Cooper was born on May 29, 1952, in Hertfordshire, England. As a student, she found school to be a less than enjoyable experience and often spent her time writing stories to pass the time and entertain her friends. Her dislike for school was so strong that she convinced her parents to let her leave at the age of fifteen, a decision she never regretted. Cooper's passion for writing only grew stronger as she got older, and her first full-length novel was published when she was just twenty years old.

In 1975, Cooper moved to London and began working in publishing. She later became a full-time writer in 1977 and went on to publish more than eighty fantasy and supernatural novels for both adults and children. She is best known for her bestselling Time Master trilogy. In addition to her novels, Cooper also wrote occasional short stories for anthologies and even co-wrote a comedy play for her local school.

Cooper lived in Cornwall with her husband, Cas Sandall, and their black cat, Simba. The coastal scenery and natural beauty of Cornwall provided her with a great deal of inspiration for her writing. Her other interests included music, folklore, cooking, gardening, and "messing about on the beach." She was also an active member of her community and served as the treasurer of her local Lifeboat station.

Louise Cooper passed away suddenly from a brain aneurysm on Tuesday, October 20, 2009. She was a talented and beloved author who will be greatly missed by readers and colleagues alike. Her contributions to the world of fantasy and supernatural fiction will live on through her many novels and stories.
