Larry Bond

Larry Bond is a highly successful American author, known for his techno-thriller novels and his work in the military field. He is 64 years old and currently resides in Virginia, outside of Washington D.C., with his wife Jeanne. Bond is a graduate of St. Thomas College and St. Paul’s, Minnesota, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Quantitative Methods in 1973. Before becoming an author, he served in the U.S. Navy for six years, including four years on a destroyer and two years of shore duty in the Washington D.C. area. After leaving the navy in 1982, he worked as a warfare analyst and antisubmarine technology expert.

Bond has written several bestselling military thrillers, including "Crash Dive," "Cold Choices," "Dangerous Ground," "Red Phoenix," and the "Larry Bond’s First Team" and "Larry Bond’s Red Dragon Rising" series. He has also co-authored eighteen novels with various authors, including Pat Larkin, Jim deFelice, and Chris Carlson. Five of these collaborations have been New York Times bestsellers. In addition to his work as an author, Bond has also co-designed the Admiralty Trilogy series games, including "Harpoon," "Command at Sea," "Fear God & Dread Nought," and "Dawn of the Battleship." These games have won multiple industry awards.

Bond’s only nonfiction work is "The Mighty Fallen," which he wrote in collaboration with photographer f-stop Fitzgerald. The book is a photographic visit to military memorials in the United States and Canada, featuring Fitzgerald’s stunning photographs and Bond’s introduction and text. Bond is a U.S. Navy veteran and served as a Surface Warfare officer before leaving the Navy in 1982. He now writes and designs games full-time and is an avid wargamer and modeler.
