Kim Fu

Kim Fu is a highly accomplished Canadian author, widely recognized for her exceptional work in literature. She was born in Canada and later moved to Seattle, Washington. Fu's heritage is of Chinese descent, which she often draws upon in her writing to explore themes of identity and belonging.

Fu first gained critical acclaim with her debut novel, 'For Today I Am a Boy', which won the Edmund White Award for Debut Fiction and was a finalist for the PEN/Hemingway Award. The novel was also a New York Times Book Review Editors' Choice and long-listed for CBC's Canada Reads. Fu's writing is known for its emotional depth and nuanced portrayal of complex characters, and 'For Today I Am a Boy' is no exception.
