Josh Malerman

Josh Malerman is a successful American author, best known for his thriller, horror, and fiction novels. He was born in Michigan and began writing stories as a child, often about space dogs. Malerman's passion for writing continued to grow, and he eventually became a New York Times bestselling author.

Malerman first gained widespread recognition with the publication of his debut novel, Bird Box, in the United Kingdom in 2012 and the USA in 2014. The book received considerable positive acclaim and was later adapted into a successful Netflix film starring Sandra Bullock. The movie became a major hit for the streaming service and spawned numerous memes.

In addition to his writing career, Malerman is also one of the two singer/songwriters for the rock band The High Strung. The band's song "The Luck You Got" is the theme song for the Showtime show "Shameless." Malerman's impressive body of work includes numerous novels, many of which were written before the publication of Bird Box. He has been nominated for eight Bram Stoker Awards and currently lives in Michigan with his fiancee, the artist/musician Allison Laakko.
