Jana Deleon

Jana DeLeon is a successful American author, known for her novels in the mystery and romance genres. She has written several series, including the Ghost-in-Law Mystery and Romance, Miss Fortune Mysteries, and Mystere Parish series. DeLeon was raised in the bayous of Louisiana, which serves as the setting for many of her novels. The experiences from her childhood have greatly influenced her writing, providing a unique and authentic backdrop for her stories.

Before becoming an author, DeLeon worked as a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in the corporate world. However, she left that career behind to pursue her passion for writing. This decision has proven to be a successful one, as DeLeon has since become a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author.

DeLeon was born and raised in Carlyss, Louisiana, a small town that is not well-known and may be difficult to locate on a map. She spent much of her childhood at her family's camp, which was located on a bayou just off the Gulf of Mexico and could only be accessed by boat. One of the most significant features of the camp was a rope hammock hanging in the shade on a large deck that stretched out over the water. DeLeon spent countless hours reading books in this hammock, igniting her love for literature and storytelling.

In addition to reading, DeLeon and her brother spent thousands of hours exploring the bayous in a flat-bottom aluminum boat. During these "studies," they observed the natural habitat of many birds, nutria, and alligators. She assures readers that no animals were harmed during these expeditions, but they did keep makers of peroxide in business. While DeLeon has never stumbled upon a mystery or a ghost like her heroines, she remains hopeful. She currently resides in Dallas, Texas, with her husband and the most pampered Sheltie in the world.
