J.C. Hulsey

J.C. Hulsey is a writer who has lived in Midlothian, Texas, for thirty years. He is a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who has been married for 61 years. Hulsey enjoys Western movies and TV shows, particularly older ones, and has a fondness for reading about mail-order brides. He is also a cat and dog lover, having taken in six stray cats and one rescue dog.

Hulsey worked for 33 years at Bell Helicopter and served in the USAF for five years and the Air National Guard for four years. He has always had a passion for writing, starting with songs in his early twenties and recording a couple of songs in the late 1960s. He began writing poetry in the 1970s, which he self-published on Amazon in 2013. Despite his early attempts at writing, Hulsey felt the need to create something different, leading him to try his hand at writing a book in the 1970s, although it was never finished.

In 2014, Hulsey felt compelled to write a western novel, but he wanted to create something unique that wasn't already on the market. He came up with the idea of a young Christian gunfighter, which led to the creation of his novel, Angel Falls, Texas. Hulsey's approach to writing is instinctual and passionate, often experiencing an explosion of words in his brain that flows out like a raging river or a frozen glacier. He writes prolifically, having written a twenty-eight-page booklet of poetry over the course of two days and nights. Hulsey's writing routine is consistent, with the need to write becoming particularly strong as soon as his head hits the pillow at night.
