Iris Johansen is a highly successful American author, known for her work in the romance and crime fiction genres. She was born on April 7th, 1938, and is married with two children, a son named Roy and a daughter named Tamara. Both of her children play a role in her writing process, with her son co-authoring some of her novels and her daughter working as her research assistant.
Johansen began her writing career after her children left for college. She first found success in the early 1980s writing category romances. In 1991, she made the switch to suspense historical romance novels, starting with the publication of "The Wind Dancer." It was in 1996 that Johansen made another genre shift, this time to crime fiction, where she has achieved great success. Some of her notable works in this genre include "Eve," "Chasing The Night," "Blood Game," and "Deadlock." She is also the co-author, along with her son Roy Johansen, of several novels, including "Night Watch," "The Naked Eye," and "Sight Unseen."
