Graeme Simsion is a successful author, originally from Auckland, New Zealand, but currently residing in Australia. Prior to his writing career, Simsion worked as an IT consultant and wrote several papers and books on data modeling. In 1982, he established his own consultancy business, Simsion Bowles & Associates, which grew to over 70 staff before he sold it in 1999. He also co-founded a wine distribution business, Pinot Now, with Steven Naughton. Simsion later decided to pursue a Ph.D. in data-modeling from Melbourne University, which he completed in 2006.\n \n Simsion's writing career took off when he turned fifty and decided to try his hand at fiction. His first novel, "The Rosie Project," was published in 2013 and quickly became a bestseller, with translation rights sold in forty languages and movie rights optioned to Sony Pictures. The sequels, "The Rosie Effect" and "The Rosie Result," were also bestsellers, with total sales of the series exceeding five million copies. Simsion's other notable works include "The Best of Adam Sharp," "Two Steps Forward" (sequel "Two Steps Onward"), and "Creative Differences and Other Stories." He has also written a step-by-step guide to writing, "The Novel Project."
Simsion is a frequent presenter of seminars on writing and has been a speaker at numerous book events and writing seminars. His success in fiction writing has been impressive, especially considering his background in IT consulting and data modeling. Simsion's ability to transition from non-fiction to fiction writing, and his success in doing so, has made him a well-respected and successful author in the industry.
