Fran Striker was a highly regarded American writer, known for his work in children's fiction, western novels, and literature & fiction novels. He was also an accomplished editor, producer, and publisher. Striker was particularly celebrated for his work in comics and radio, and is best known for creating and writing the Lone Ranger series, Tom Quest Adventure series, Sgt. Preston series, and the Green Hornet series.
Striker was born on August 19, 1903, in Buffalo, New York, and completed his schooling at Lafayette High School. He went on to study at Buffalo University, where he became a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity. However, he did not complete his college education and instead began working with a newly opened theatrical company in New York for a brief period. After returning to Buffalo, Striker secured a job at the WEBR radio station as an announcer.
