Faye Kellerman

Faye Kellerman is an acclaimed American author, best known for her Peter Decker/Rina Lazarus series of mystery novels. She has written over twenty novels, including several standalone novels, and has a significant number of faithful readers worldwide. Kellerman's novels have been translated into numerous languages, and there are well over twenty million copies of her works in print internationally.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, on July 31, 1952, Kellerman grew up in Sherman Oaks, California. She earned a BA in mathematics and a doctorate in dentistry at UCLA, and conducted research in oral biology. However, Kellerman's passion for writing led her to abandon her career as a dentist and pursue a career in writing. Her groundbreaking first novel, THE RITUAL BATH, was published in 1986 and introduced readers to Peter Decker and Rina Lazarus, a refreshing mystery couple that quickly gained popularity.

Kellerman's writing style is characterized by her ability to imbue her books with a sense of style and to deliver a satisfying sense of justice. Her novels usually have clear beginnings, middles, and ends, which her readers appreciate. In addition to her crime series, Kellerman has also written a suspense horror novel set in Las Vegas, MOON MUSIC, featuring Detective Romulus Poe, as well as an historical novel of intrigue set in Elizabethan England, THE QUALITY OF MERCY. She has also co-authored the New York Times Bestseller DOUBLE HOMICIDE, with her husband and partner in crime, Jonathan Kellerman.

Kellerman's work has been widely recognized, and she has won several awards, including the Macavity Award for the Best First Novel from the Mystery Readers of America. She has also been included in several anthologies, such as Sara Paretsky's A Woman's Eye, The First Annual Year's Finest Crime and Mystery Stories, and The Third Annual Best Mystery Stories of the Year. Her short stories and reviews have been widely anthologized in numerous collections, including two volumes of the Sisters in Crime Series, Sara Paretsky's A Woman's Eye, and Deadly Allies 11.

In addition to her writing, Kellerman is also a proud mother of four children and enjoys gardening, sewing, and jogging. She lives in Los Angeles, California, and Santa Fe, New Mexico, with her husband, Jonathan, their youngest child, and their French Bulldog, Hugo.
