Farahad Zama

Farahad Zama is a successful Indian author, best known for his "Marriage Bureau for Rich People" series. Born in Vizag, India in 1966, Zama pursued his higher education at the Indian Institute of Engineering near Kolkata, where he earned a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering. His professional journey began in Mumbai, working for an investment bank, which eventually led him to an arranged marriage with a woman from his hometown.

Zama's career involved extensive travel, taking him to various locations such as Zurich, New York, Luxembourg, and ultimately settling in London with his wife and two sons, who were born in Croydon. He continues to reside in South London and maintains his corporate career in the City, finding time to write during his commutes and on weekends.

"The Marriage Bureau for Rich People" is Zama's debut novel, which quickly gained popularity as it was selected as a Richard & Judy and Daily Mail book of the month, as well as being shortlisted for various awards, including Best New Writer of the Year at the British Book Awards, Best Published Fiction at the Muslim Writers Awards, and Melissa Nathan Awards for Comedy and Romance. The book has been translated into eight languages, showcasing its international appeal. Zama's second and third novels, "The Many Conditions of Love" and "The Wedding Wallah," continue the story of Mr. Ali's "Marriage Bureau."
