Drew Daywalt

Drew Daywalt is an acclaimed American children's books author, known for his creativity and imaginative storytelling. He is a graduate of Emerson College in Boston, where he concentrated in Children's Literature, and his love for writing and building imaginary worlds can be traced back to his childhood in one of Ohio's most haunted houses.

After college, Daywalt pursued a career in Hollywood, where he wrote for beloved shows such as Timon & Pumba, Buzz Lightyear, and Woody Woodpecker. His animated series, The Wacky World of Tex Avery, received an Emmy nomination. In addition to his work in television, Daywalt has also worked with notable Hollywood figures such as Quentin Tarrantino, Lawrence Bender, Tony Scott, Brett Ratner, and Jerry Bruckheimer on studio screenwriting and feature film directing projects.

Daywalt's first foray into picture book writing, "The Day the Crayons Quit," was a huge success. The book, which was illustrated by Oliver Jeffers, debuted on the New York Times Best Seller's List in June 2013 and quickly became a Number One Best Seller. Today, Daywalt continues to write smart and imaginative stories for young readers, and spends time with his family in California when he's not working.
