Douglas Bond is a well-known American author who specializes in writing Christian-themed historical fiction, children's, and non-fiction books. He has a extensive background in education, having earned a Master's degree in Teaching from St. Martin's University and a Preliminary Certificate in Theology from Moore Theological College. Bond is also a ruling elder in the Presbyterian Church in America and has received recognition for his teaching abilities, being awarded the regional Teacher Award for teaching young people how to write. In addition to his work as an author, Bond lectures on literature and Church history, leads study tours in Europe, and is a teacher of English and history at a Christian high school.
Bond is perhaps best known for his works of historical fiction, which include titles such as Duncan's War, King's Arrow, and Rebel's Keep. His writing is informed by his deep passion for history and religion, and he has been recognized for his contributions to literature, being connected with some of the finest works of historical fiction. Bond is an adjunct instructor in Church history and creative writing at several institutions of higher learning and leads Church history tours in Europe. He is also a father of six and grandfather of seven. He has taught English and history for many years, and has been recognized for his abilities as a teacher, receiving the "2005 Teacher Award" from the Pierce County Library Foundation and Arts Commission. Bond frequently speaks on writing at various conferences and has ministered overseas in the United Kingdom, Western Australia, Peru, the Kingdom of Tonga, and Uganda.
