Dorothy Koomson is a highly regarded English novelist, known for her fiction, contemporary, and adult fiction novels. Born in London, Koomson developed an interest in writing at a young age. At the age of 13, she wrote her first novel, "There's A Thin Line Between Love And Hate," which she shared with her fellow pupils at her convent school. This experience sparked a lifelong passion for storytelling that would lead to a successful career as a published author.
Koomson's career as a published novelist began in 2001 with her debut novel, "The Cupid Effect." Over the next several years, she wrote and published a novel almost every year until 2013, taking a brief break before resuming her writing in 2015. Her third novel, "My Best Friend's Girl," was a significant success, earning a spot on Richard & Judy's Summer Reads shortlist and selling over 500,000 copies. Other popular titles include "The Ice Cream Girls," "The Brighton Mermaid," "The Friend," and "Tell Me Your Secret."
Koomson's novels have been translated into over 30 languages and have sold millions of copies worldwide. In addition to her success as a novelist, Koomson has also been recognized for her contributions to the literary community. In 2019, she was awarded the Image Award by The Black British Business Awards, honoring her achievements and impact in the industry.
In addition to her writing, Koomson has also lived and worked in various parts of the world, including Leeds, London, and Sydney, Australia.
