Daown Merriman is a published author of fiction, specifically in the genre of creepy small-town murder mysteries. She currently resides in northeastern Indiana on a small pig farm with her husband and teenage children. Growing up, Merriman was a small-town farm girl who spent her young adulthood sitting on her bedroom floor, scribbling stories in notebooks. Her passion for writing began at a young age, with her completing her first novel in Middle School and a few others in High School and college.
Merriman's writing career was put on hold as she raised her children, but she made a successful return to publishing with the release of her debut novel, "How Murder Saved My Life" in 2019. Her love for animals, auctions, snorkeling, and archaeology are often reflected in her writing. In addition to her novels, Merriman has also won the "Northeast Indiana Young Writers" award as a sophomore in high school and has since written numerous mystery and thriller novels. She is currently offering a free copy of her award-winning short story, "My Name Is Mud," to those who sign up for her newsletter on her website.
