David Platt

David Platt is a well-known American author and evangelical Baptist pastor. He served as the senior pastor at the Church at Brook Hills in Birmingham, Alabama, from 2006 to 2014, where he gained recognition as the youngest megachurch pastor in the country. Platt then took on the role of president at the International Mission Board from 2014 to 2017. Currently, he is the pastor-teacher at McLean Bible Church in the Washington, D.C. metro area.

Platt is the author of the New York Times bestselling book "Radical: Taking Back Your Faith from the American Dream," published in 2011. The book emphasizes the importance of living a radical life for Christ and challenges readers to reevaluate their priorities in light of the gospel. In 2011, Platt published a complementary book titled "Radical Together," which further explores the themes presented in his bestseller.

David Platt is also the founder and chairman of Radical (Inc.), an international ministry that serves the church by producing biblical resources and equipping the church to meet urgent spiritual and physical needs. He has written several other books, including "Follow Me," "Counter Culture," and "Something Needs to Change," as well as volumes in the Christ-Centered Exposition Commentary series, such as "Exalting Jesus in Matthew," "Exalting Jesus in James," "Exalting Jesus in 1 & 2 Timothy and Titus," and "Exalting Jesus in Galatians." Platt received his Ph.D. from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Along with his wife and four children, he resides in the Washington, D.C. metro area.
