Dash Shaw is an accomplished American comic author, animator, and cartoonist, who resides in Brooklyn, New York. Shaw has made a name for himself in the comic book industry with notable works such as "New School," "Bodyworld," and "Bottomless Belly Button." At the young age of 19, he was already recognized as one of the top 10 artists at the 2002 Small Press Expo.
Shaw's comic short stories have been featured in various anthologies, magazines, and newspapers. His work is renowned for its unique and innovative design, lyrical logic, and emotional depth. In addition to his work in comic books, Shaw has also ventured into animation. He has created animated films, including the Sundance Selection and Sigur Ros video, as well as the IFC series "The Unclothed Man in the 35th Century AD."
One of Shaw's latest graphic novels is "New School," a story about two brothers on an island where an ambitious amusement park is being constructed. Other notable works by Shaw include "Bodyworld," a telepathy comedy, and "Bottomless Belly Button," a family comedy-drama. His graphic novel "Doctors," about doctors who enter deceased patients' afterlives to revive them from death, had its film rights quickly picked up by 20th Century Fox. "New School" was also named one of the Best Books of 2013 by NPR.
