Alice Alfonsi, also known by her pen names Cleo Coyle and Alice Kimberly, is an accomplished American author. She is best known for her co-authorship of the Coffeehouse Mysteries series, under the name Cleo Coyle, and the Haunted Bookshop Mysteries, as Alice Kimberly. These mystery series have been highly successful, with the Coffeehouse Mysteries selling over 1 million copies and becoming a bestselling series. Many of the novels in these series have been honored as Top Picks and Fresh Picks by leading reviewing magazines, and have even been featured as best books of the year.
Alfonsi's writing career extends beyond cozy mysteries. She has written numerous young adult television tie-in novels and movie novelizations under her real name. Additionally, she and her husband, Marc Cerasini, are New York Times bestselling media tie-in writers who have penned properties for various studios and networks. One of their media tie-in books, which was ghostwritten by Alfonsi, was named by Entertainment Weekly as the best media tie-in book written that year.
Alfonsi, who grew up near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, earned scholarships to study creative and professional writing at Carnegie Mellon and American Universities. She began her career as a cub reporter for The New York Times. Now, she lives and works in New York City with her husband and collaborator, Marc Cerasini. When not writing, Alfonsi and Cerasini can be found haunting coffeehouses, hunting ghosts, rescuing stray cats, and cooking up a storm.
