After completing her LLB from the University of the West Indies in 1995, she began her career as a lawyer and was admitted to the Bar in Barbados in 1997. Jones' passion for writing never waned, leading her to pursue further education in the field. In 2015, she graduated from the Master of Arts Writing Program at Sheffield Hallam University.
Jones' professional background is diverse, as she currently holds the position of general counsel for a government agency in Barbados.
