Charlie Jane Anders

Charli Jane Anders is an acclaimed American author, known for her science fiction and fantasy novels and stories. She was born in Connecticut and has since become a prominent figure in the literary world, earning numerous awards for her work. Anders is not only a novelist but also a short story writer, blogger, event organizer, essayist, emcee, juror, commentator, publisher, presenter, lobbyist, and performing artist. She currently resides in San Francisco, California, with her partner, Annalee Newitz.

Anders has won several prestigious awards for her writing, including the Nebula, Locus, and Crawford awards for her novel 'All the Birds in the Sky'. Her short stories have been published in various esteemed outlets such as Tor.com, Wired Magazine, Slate, Tin House, Conjunctions, Boston Review, Asimov's Science Fiction, The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, and McSweeney's Internet Tendency, among others. She has also been featured in numerous anthologies and has won several awards for her short fiction.

In addition to her writing, Anders is also an active member of the literary community. She organizes Writers With Drinks, a monthly reading series in San Francisco that features authors from various genres. She also co-hosts a Hugo Award-winning podcast, Our Opinions Are Correct, with Annalee Newitz. Previously, Anders wrote for io9.com, a blog about science fiction and futurism, and went on to become its editor-in-chief. She has also been a contributing writer to various publications, including Wired Magazine, the Boston Review, Conjunctions, Tin House, Slate, MIT Technology Review, the New York Times, the Washington Post, the San Francisco Chronicle, Tor.com, Lightspeed Magazine, McSweeney’s, The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, Asimov’s Science Fiction Magazine, ZYZZYVA, and Strange Horizons.

Anders has published several books, including 'Victories Greater Than Death', 'Never Say You Can’t Survive', 'All the Birds in the Sky', 'The City in the Middle of the Night', 'Six Months, Three Days, Five Others', and 'Even Greater Mistakes'. She is also an advocate for female geeks and has co-edited a book of first-person stories by female geeks called 'She’s Such a Geek: Women Write About Science, Technology and Other Nerdy Stuff'. Anders is known for her unique voice, creative storytelling, and commitment to celebrating diversity in science fiction and fantasy.
