Carola Saavedra

Carola Saavedra is a highly regarded author of women's fiction, chick-lit, romance, and young adult novels. She was born in Santiago, Chile in 1973 and moved with her family to Brazil when she was just three years old. Saavedra grew up in Rio de Janeiro and attended a German school during her childhood and adolescence. She went on to study journalism at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro and later moved to Europe, living in Spain, France, and Germany. While in Germany, she earned a master's degree in communication studies.

Saavedra's literary career began in 2005 with the publication of her short story collection "Do Lado de Fora" (The Outside). In 2008, she published her romance novel "Flores Azuis" (Blue Flowers), which received the award from the Association of Art Critics of São Paulo (APCA) in the same year. Saavedra has also written widely popular standalone novels such as "With Sleepy Weapons", "The Inventory of Absent Things", and "Outside". In 2010, she was invited to attend the international literary festival of Paraty, known as Flip. In 2018, she collaborated with Sonolentas Armas to launch her new book.
