Carol Higgins Clark

Carol Higgins Clark is a renowned American author, best known for her mystery and suspense novels. She was born in New York City and received her B.A. from Mount Holyoke College in 1978. After completing her education, Clark studied acting at the Beverly Hills Playhouse.

Clark is the daughter of the famous suspense novelist, Mary Higgins Clark, and was often compared to her mother in terms of writing style. However, Carol's writing is known to have a stronger sense of humor. She is also the former sister-in-law of another successful author, Mary Jane Clark.

Clark is best known for her Regan Reilly series, which features a bright and resourceful private investigator as the protagonist. In addition to her own series, Clark also co-authored a bestselling holiday mystery series with her mother. Besides writing, Clark was also an actress and studied at the Beverly Hills Playhouse. She received AudioFile's Earphones Award of Excellence for her reading of Jinxed.

Clark had a close call in 2006 when a small plane flown by New York Yankees pitcher Cory Lidle hit her New York apartment building, The Belaire. Her 38th floor condominium was just a floor below the main impact zone, but luckily, she was not injured in the accident. Clark passed away on June 12, 2023, at the age of 66, due to appendix cancer.
