Bora Chung

Bora Chung is a highly acclaimed South Korean author, best known for her short story collection "Cursed Bunny" which was shortlisted for the International Booker Prize. Born and raised in Seoul, Chung was born to two dentist parents. She pursued her higher education in the United States, attending Yale University where she majored in Russian and East European area studies. Afterward, she went on to earn a PhD in Slavic literature from Indiana University.

Chung's writing is heavily influenced by a variety of authors, including Park Wan-Suh, Bruno Jasieński, Bruno Schulz, Lyudmila Petrushevskaya, and Andrei Platonov. These influences are evident in her writing style and the themes she explores in her work.
