Robert Renwick Mortimer, better known as Bob Mortimer, is an English comedian, podcast presenter, and actor who was born on May 23, 1959, in Middlesbrough, England. Growing up, he had three brothers and lived in the Linthorpe area of Middlesbrough. Sadly, when Mortimer was only seven years old, his father, a biscuit salesman, passed away in a car accident. Around the same time, Mortimer accidentally burned his family's home down with a stray firework.
Mortimer is best known for his work as part of the Vic and Bob comedy double act with Vic Reeves. Together, they have created and starred in numerous television shows, including "Vic Reeves' Big Night Out," "Shooting Stars," and "Bang Bang, It's Reeves and Mortimer." These shows have been praised for their surreal and anarchic humor, and have gained a cult following in the UK. Mortimer has also had a successful career as a solo performer, appearing in shows such as "The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer" and "Would I Lie to You?" He has also lent his voice to animated series, including "Monkey Dust" and "Gory Stories."
More recently, Mortimer has co-created and starred in the series "Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing" with comedian Paul Whitehouse.
