A.M. Dellamonica

A.M. Dellamonica, also known as Alyxandra Margaret Dellamonica, is a highly respected Canadian author. She was born on February 25, 1968, in Calgary, Canada and has been actively writing since the 1980s. Dellamonica is best known for her science fiction, fantasy, and alternate history novels and short stories. She has published over 30 short stories and has written in the mystery, thriller, and fantasy genres as well.

Dellamonica's success as a novelist is evident in the fact that a couple of her anthologies have been selected as the Year's Best in 2002 and 2007. In addition to her writing, she teaches online creative writing courses in collaboration with the UCLA Extension Writers Program and provides genuine reviews of science fiction websites and books. She has a particular interest in the alternate history genre and has written novels based on this sub-genre.

Dellamonica currently resides in Toronto, Ontario, with her wife, Kelly, and their two cats, Lorenzo and Chinchilla. She is a legally married lesbian and enjoys taking pictures of Toronto in her spare time. Dellamonica's first novel, "Indigo Springs," was released in 2009 and received rave reviews. It won the 2009 Sunburst Award for Canadian Literature of the Fantastic, and a sequel, "Blue Magic," was released in 2012. Her newest novel, "The Nature of a Pirate," closes the The Hidden Sea Tales trilogy, which was a 2014 Lambda Award Finalist. Dellamonica is a prolific writer, with her fiction appearing in print in 1986 and remaining in circulation in various print and online locales. She is also a dedicated teacher and blogs extensively about writing, photography, mass media, and her cats.
